Privacy Policy

Short version: QWOT has no accounts, sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and shows no ads. We don’t collect personal data about you. The few things the site remembers (your likes and preferences) are stored only in your own browser and never sent to us.

1. What we don’t collect

No sign-up, no profiles, no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, no first-party cookies. We don’t build a profile of you and we don’t sell or share data — because we don’t collect any.

2. What stays in your browser

To make the feed feel personal, the site stores a few values in your browser’s localStorage: quotes you’ve liked or saved, quotes you’ve already seen, and a lightweight “taste” signal (themes/authors you engage with). This data never leaves your device and isn’t accessible to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

3. Affiliate links (Amazon)

Some links go to Amazon as an Amazon Associate. If you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies and process data under Amazon’s privacy notice. That happens on Amazon, not on QWOT.

4. Hosting & security logs

The site is served through Cloudflare in front of our server. Like any web host, our infrastructure may briefly process technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Fonts and assets are self-hosted, so no third-party font or CDN tracking is loaded.

5. Your rights

We hold no personal data about you, so there’s nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. For data stored in your browser, you control it directly (clear site data). Under the GDPR you may contact us with any privacy question.

6. Children

QWOT is a general-audience quotes site and isn’t directed at children, nor does it knowingly collect data from anyone.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the current version. The data controller is the operator of qwot.org — questions: [email protected].
